On September 30, 2008, Chris Randles become CEO and Mike Payne become chairman of the board. On April 1, 2007, SpaceClaim released SpaceClaim 2007 Professional, its first commercial release. Mike Payne was previously a founder of PTC and SolidWorks.

These functions were developed in the modelling kernel ACIS licensed to SpaceClaim by Dassault Systemes.
